    Sundays at Haywards

    On Sundays, Haywards offers the à la carte menu to include a roast style dish.  Either roast pork, lamb or côte de boeuf are served with seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes and appropriate accompaniments. 

    Enjoy a delicious lunch in exquisite surroundings – a perfect end to the week!

    Portuguese Wine Dinner – Thursday 12th October 2017

    Join us for our Portuguese Wine Dinner and reminisce about that wonderful summer holiday. We are preparing a fabulous four course set menu to be accompanied by some terrific Portuguese wines and ports. Start your evening with a lively welcome drink on arrival, followed by our signature home made bread and a selection of amuse bouche. Four courses will follow, one of which will be a cheese course, and each course will include an expertly matched wine. This event is priced at £80 per person.

    Live Cooking Demonstration & Recipe Book Signing – Saturday 4th November 2017

    November sees the return of our popular Saturday lunchtime cooking demonstrations by Head Chef, Jahdre Hayward. We are also excited to feature in a forthcoming cookbook and food lovers’ guide which celebrates Essex. Essex Feast: One County, Twenty Chefs, will be published in September and Jahdre will be signing copies which will be included with each reservation. Join us for a fun and informative lunchtime, let Chef entertain you and enjoy a welcome drink, a set two course menu, a glass of wine or a soft drink, tea or coffee and petit fours. This event is priced at £65 per person to include a signed copy of Essex Feast.

    Essex Feast Dinner featuring Rob Horton, chef patron of Rubino Kitchen – Thursday 16th November 2017

    We are proud to feature in a forthcoming cookbook and food lovers’ guide which celebrates Essex. Essex Feast: One County, Twenty Chefs, will be published in the autumn and we are delighted to bring you this special event in collaboration with Rob Horton, chef patron of the excellent Rubino Kitchen, who also features in the book. Both Rob and Haywards’ Head Chef Jahdre, will be preparing and serving you a selection of their recipes featured in the book during this 5 course tasting menu. Also included are an arrival drink, home made bread, amuse bouche and petit fours as well as a cookbook for each diner signed by both chefs. Matched wines to accompany the dishes plus a cheese course will be available at a supplement. This event is priced at £70 per person.

    Private Events

    If you have a special occasion or gathering coming up, why not consider holding your event at Haywards and let us do the hard work. We have some wonderful options to meet many varying requirements.

    The Stable is our private dining room which can seat up to 14 guests for a formal meal or larger numbers should informal dining be acceptable. A lovely environment in which to host any special occasion. 

    Exclusive Hire of the whole restaurant is also an option if you have a large number of guests. We can seat up to 48 guests for a formal meal, or larger numbers if informal dining is preferred. We have hosted birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, wedding receptions and office parties too.

    Conferencing

    We are now able to offer conference facilities in our private dining room, The Stable. A competitive day delegate package is offered to include:

    morning tea, cake and fruit, a 2 course lunch and a glass of wine or soft drink, afternoon tea and scones.
