    Booking Policy

    We welcome diners aged 10 years and over for both lunch and dinner services.

    Whilst Essex remains in the Tier 2 category we can only take reservations for guests from one household.  

    A face covering must be worn by all guests upon entering and exiting the restaurant and during all rest breaks. Face coverings can only be removed when guests are seated at their table. 

    We request that all guests remain seated at their table whenever possible and avoid mingling with other tables. Social distancing must be adhered to wherever possible. 

    The last reservation will be taken at 7.30pm on Thursday and Friday evenings and at 7pm on Saturday evenings to enable guests to enjoy their meal prior to the restaurant closing promptly at 10pm. We kindly ask all guests to pre book any transport for 9.50pm latest. 

    Please note that the tasting menu will only be available for reservations up to 7pm.

    On Saturday evenings only the tasting menu will be available. There will be a 4 course (£55pp) and a 6 course (£72.50pp) option offered. Paired wines will be available and dietary needs can be accommodated. 

    Our dress code is smart casual – no trainers, flip flops, t-shirts or sportswear please. In warm weather, tailored shorts and collared t-shirts are acceptable.

    Vegan dishes can be pre-ordered with 72 hours notice – please contact us directly by email or call 01992 577350.

    Please refrain from using mobile phones and vape products inside the restaurant.

    Our private dining room, The Stable, can ordinarily seat a maximum of 14 guests. However due to government regulations regarding COVID-19, these numbers have been reduced and will be subject to continuous reviews to enable us to adhere to the current regulations.     We request that parties of 6 or more guests kindly arrive 15 minutes prior to their reservation time.

    We are fully wheelchair accessible with ramps from the car park into the restaurant and a large accessible toilet on the ground floor.

    Haywards is fully air conditioned offering a comfortable dining experience during the warmer months.

    Please note that there will be a £4 charge per guest for all parties bringing their own celebration cake to the restaurant to be served in place of dessert. With approximately two weeks’ notice, Haywards can make a celebration cake for you. Please email info@haywardsrestaurant.co.uk for further information.

    When dining in the main restaurant, we kindly request that guests refrain from bringing balloons and table decorations including table confetti. Decorations for use in the private dining room and for exclusive hire of the whole restaurant will be permitted at the discretion of the Restaurant Manager. Please discuss your preferences with a member of staff in advance of your event.

     

    Cancellation Policy

    Please be considerate of this independent small business and provide as much notice as possible should you need to cancel your reservation. Please note, credit or debit card details are required to secure all dinner reservations and Sunday lunchtime reservations. These details are also required for special days throughout the year including, but not limited to, Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday and Father’s Day.  A table cannot be held without them. Charges will be made to the card in the event of no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the seating time if a table cannot be filled. The charge will be £35.00 per person.
